Special Note from Center Place ~ Stop by this November to see Sue's exhibit in our Mook Gallery!

"Journey with Sue Allen"

Artist Sue Allen will exhibit her unique watercolor paintings in the Mook Gallery at Center Place during the month of November. Water is the foundation of every stroke in Sue’s watercolor and acrylic paintings. Her images are so natural they look like they were poured on the paper and often were. In this exhibit, Sue shares some of her journeys to far away locations and also into her imagination.

Sue says of her process, “The work that I do is founded in traditional watercolor, but in recent years I have explored the boundaries of all water media. I am trying to strike a balance between my control and the alluring spontaneity of water media. The final image is the result of my intent or message and this spontaneous approach”.

Sue Allen is a past president of Brandon League of Fine Arts and Florida Watercolor Society. She received the Spud Clements Award for her service to Center Place and has served on their Board of Directors. Sue holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting and Drawing. She teaches at Center Place and, as a working artist, has been winning awards here and around the country for many years. Her painting “Bermuda Palm” took top honors in last years Artworks Open Competition and her paintings were featured in “Watercolor Magic” magazine.

Please stop by 9-5, Monday through Friday November 2-29 to view the exhibit and plan to meet Sue at a reception in her honor November 4th from 5:30-7:00pm.
