This class is designed to introduce new ways of using traditional watermedia products to create totally original works of art. Sue will demonstrate each step in her process and help students solve problems as they happen. Students will have a painting at the end of the day.
Here are the basic supplies we will be using:
Paper:
Bring 1 sheet of 100% rag Watercolor Paper, at leat 140#, CP
Paint:
Bring any water soluble mediums you have, acrylic, watercolor and inks, pencils and crayons. I will bring many paints to share.
I prefer Golden liquid acrylics and if you are buying acrylic paint you can choose the primary colors (Quinacridone Gold, Quinacridone Crimson, Phthalo Blue) and Black.
My basic watercolor palette is:
Cadmium Yellow med. Thalo Blue Pyanes Gray
Yellow Ochre or Quinacridone Gold Prussian Blue Burnt Sienna
Thalo Crimson (Grumbacher) Alizarin Crimson Burnt Umber
Please bring White Acrylic Gesso (sold in a plastic bottle)
Brushes:
A large flat 1 1/2" or 2"
3/4" flat, aquarelle
1/2" flat, aquarelle
#10 or 14 round
#6 or 8 round
a detail brush #2 or 4
an old wide flat brush
you may want to brind separate brushes to work with acrylics, a rubber brayer, a white palette, saran wrap, paper towels and one spray bottle for water.
I will bring experimental materials you can try and reference photographs that you can use since this is a paint along (we will all be painting a similar subject). If you have questions you may call me at 813-681-3589. See you soon.
